PASTRY CHEF JEN JENSEN
.
Pastry Chef Jen Jensen was introduced to baking at an early age. Growing up in Westchester
County, NY, the youngest of four girls, Jen’s favorite memories are of family birthday parties and
her mother’s signature birthday cake.
After a diverse career that included TV production and content moderation for LEGO,
Jennifer decided to pursue her baking passion in earnest. In 2003, she attended the French Culinary Institute for professional training in classic pastry and baking arts. In 2004, she received a second diploma in Pastry Arts from the Institute of Culinary Education. Upon completing her studies, Chef Jen apprenticed with several notable pastry chefs and cake designers, including Colette Peters of Colette’s Cakes.
After moving to West Hartford with her family in 2009, Jen started Frosting n' Glaze,
specializing in custom-designed cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. She also continued to work
professionally as a Pastry Chef and Pastry Instructor.
Chef Jen has been recognized for her efforts to fight food insecurity in the Hartford area during the pandemic. Through her program, Bread for All, Jennifer baked and donated over 1000 loaves of bread to various community food programs.
At Artisan, Chef Jen combines classical culinary training, and meticulous detail, with creativity,
wit, and artistic flair to create desserts that delight diners and provide that unique touch to catered events.
